Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), Merlot, Syrah, Carménère Country: Hungary Region: Szekszárd Vintage: 2017 Wine Type: Dry red blend / Terroir wine Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Soil: Loess Harvest: Hand-harvested with manual bunch selection Fermentation: 17 days at 25–30°C Ageing: 24 months in used 300- and 500-litre oak barrels Serving Temperature: 16–18°C Style: Fruit-driven, elegant & smooth Generous fruit defines the wine, supported by soft, rounded tannins and remarkable elegance. Despite its complexity, Lösz remains charming and approachable, reflecting one of the characteristic qualities associated with wines grown on Szekszárd’s loess soils: they can show harmony and drinking pleasure even at a relatively young age. Lösz was conceived as an experiment in terroir – exploring how soil shapes the personality of a wine. The grapes are grown on the characteristic loess soils of the Szekszárd valleys, then hand-harvested and manually selected. After a 17-day fermentation at 25–30°C, the wine matures for 24 months in used 300- and 500-litre oak barrels. The restrained oak ageing allows the fruit and character of the vineyard soils to remain at the centre of the wine – a true expression of Szekszárd and its loess terroir.
