Fermentation in large French oak barrels and seven months of lees ageing create an elegant, structured white wine where Verdejo’s natural freshness meets refined oak complexity. Grape Variety: 100% Verdejo Country: Spain Region: Rueda Appellation: D.O. Rueda Estate: La Pardina Vintage: 2023 Wine Type: Dry white wine – Barrel Fermented Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Fermentation: 500-litre French oak barrels Ageing: 7 months on the lees with weekly bâtonnage Production: Limited – approximately 3,000–5,000 bottles depending on the vintage Food Pairing: Fish, seafood, rice, pasta, cheeses, charcuterie and light meats Award: James Suckling – 91 Points Brilliant straw yellow with golden highlights, this Verdejo offers an expressive bouquet reminiscent of summer and orange blossom, complemented by the variety’s characteristic fruit and aniseed notes. Spicy nuances, vanilla and delicate toasted aromas add complexity. On the palate, it is generous and textured, while refreshing acidity brings balance and vibrancy to the richer aromatic profile. Made exclusively from Verdejo grapes grown at the La Pardina estate, the wine is fermented in 500-litre French oak barrels and subsequently aged for seven months on the lees with weekly bâtonnage. This careful maturation builds texture and depth while preserving Verdejo’s freshness and varietal character. Produced in only around 3,000–5,000 bottles per vintage, it is a refined and distinctive expression of barrel-fermented Rueda Verdejo.
