Grape variety: Nebbiolo
Laficaia’s Barolo is a warm, full bodied red wine with dry, well-balanced taste. Aged 24 months in a wooden barrel (50% Slovenian 50% French wood), followed by 6 months in the bottle.
On the nose it reveals a bouquet of intense and complex aromas, ranging from notes of wild berries and red fruits with hints of tobacco and spice. On the palate it reveals an intensity and complexity worthy of its denomination: dry, warm, extremely soft, almost silky, it has tannins that are slightly acidic but never invasive, accompanied by an unexpected freshness.
Pairing suggestion: red meat, both rare and well cooked, or with a good platter of cold cuts and cheeses, possibly well-seasoned.
