A blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pleasantly aromatic start. Aromas of red currant, sour cherries, violets, slightly spicy. Fruity on the palate, with harmoniously integrated acidity and fine tannins. An elegant Chianti that goes wonderfully with Italian or grilled dishes.
Each individual variety from individual vineyards are aged separately in barriques (two-thirds new) for 18 months. The barrels are then cuvéeted, the wine is placed in uncoated concrete tanks for 3 months and finally the Il Blu enjoys a one-year bottle ageing.
