Fresh and elegant, Szfinx Brut reflects the naturally lively acidity and delicate character of Pinot Blanc. The variety is known for producing light to medium-bodied wines with subtle fruit and characteristic nuances reminiscent of hazelnut and fresh hazel twigs. Extended contact with the lees adds texture and complexity while retaining the wine’s refreshing, refined personality.
Pinot Blanc, also known as Weissburgunder or Pinot Bianco, belongs to the famous Pinot family and is closely related to Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Particularly important in Alsace and Germany, it is also cultivated in Hungary, where its natural acidity makes it particularly well suited to sparkling-wine production. For this limited-edition Szfinx Brut, Cseri uses 100% Pinot Blanc and the Traditional Method, with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. The wine then spends 18 months on the lees before disgorgement, developing additional depth and complexity. A distinctive milestone for Cseri Winery and an exciting expression of Pinot Blanc from Pannonhalma.
